Favorite travel shows

I have been a fan of travel shows since I was a very young and still am an addict until this day. (Travel Channel, Discovery, Food Channel, Channel T, I am talking about you!)

Thanks to beautiful images, descriptions and narration, I am immediately transported to some distant and exotic places!

The great hosts are my travel heroes and source of inspiration ;)

Here are my favorite travel shows (in no particular order) and a short clip. Enjoy!

Globe Trekker

Passport to Europe

Travels to the Edge

Rudy Maxa’s world

Rick Steves

Other fascinating travel shows that I discovered in the past year:

1000 places to see before you die

The Travel Bug

Do you have your own favorite travel shows? Did I leave any other great ones out?

If so let me know.

‘Til next time,

Love

Kay :)

I love Ian Wright’s episodes for Globe Trekker and Anthony Bourdain’s No Reservations. I did plan my 2009 trip to Ireland after watching a Rich Steves and Rudy Maxa Ireland marathon. ;-)

    • Thank you so much for your comment! Oh yes Ian, how can we not love this witty guy. He is hilarious too even though sometimes I can’t understand what he is saying lol!

Rick Steves and Rudy Maxa are the ultimate travelers, love their calmness and the way they just fly around the world and make us dream.
I’d love to do what they do!

Glad to read that they inspired you! How was Ireland btw?

      Thanks again for stopping by!

      Kay :)

I also love that Rudy Maxa does more of a luxury show whereas Rick Steves is a step above back-packing.

      • That’s very true! He does have excellent taste and it’s the kind of luxury I aspire to enjoy :)

Loved your last line about Rick Steves lol! Well he is a savvy traveler with a budget, let’s put it that way!

        What do you think?

Did you see the Travel Bug & his room in Bora Bora?

Have you seen the Top Travel Show from South Africa’s Jeannie D and Janez Vermeiren? They spent six months going around the world (the show is in reruns now) “experiencing everything lux and beautiful”. Great show – well done with fun hosts. I picture my bestie and me travelling just like those two. Well, really it’s more like I *dream* of that. ;)

Also dig Bourdain’s various shows, and a series called “From Above” – French, I think – where they essentially sight see by helicopter. Absolutely beautiful. It used to be on Axs TV in the US, but I haven’t seen it lately.

    • Wow, I never heard of the South African show but will look them up!

Yeah I totally forgot to add Anthony Bourdain. He’s quite a character but overall awesome!

Thank you for the tips and for your visit ;)

Thoughts? Comments? They are appreciated ;)
