Every artist dips his brush in his own soul, and paints his own nature into his picture.

Located about 2 hours northwest of El Salvador‘s capital, San Salvador, La Palma is a beautiful and very colorful town nestled in the mountains near the Honduran border.
Go on a photography tour of La Palma. El Salvador: A Colorful Town
La Palma became famous after renowned artist Fernando Llort moved there in the 70’s and the ”folk art”, that portrayed the daily lives of Salvadorans, was born.
His influence can be seen and his presence felt everywhere.
There are talleres (workshops) where you can observe skillful artisans at work. They produce all kinds of handicrafts (that are later exported) such as: wood blocks, hammocks, jewelry, ceramic and so much more.
You can even paint your own piece of art and take it home 😉
Going from shop to shop is a feast for the eyes. Since I love art (and support artists) I bought a few souvenirs of course 😉
I am very happy to have discovered this corner of the country. It’s well worth traveling for 😉
I hope you enjoyed this photography tour of La Palma, El Salvador: A colorful town.
