“Your life does not get better by chance, it gets better by change”
Jim Rohn
Our lives have been forever changed in the last few months and we are now having to live our “new normal”. Gone are the days we were stuck in a rut. Being in our comfort zone is felt safe and was our little haven away from the world.
The disruption that the entire planet is experiencing has taught us that nothing will ever be the same…ever again.
Now staying home and working from home has not been easy for ourselves and loved ones. We have had to make many adjustments and been consuming more than we used to!
We now find ourselves struggling to squeeze into your jeans, have not had our usual hair do, or we’re suffering from a lack of sleep.
All these elements of our lives combined might drag us down until one day we wake up and realize that the time has come to make some changes, radical ones sometimes.
Self-love and self-care are top priority, so let me share 5 steps to a new you
that have been proven time and time again but worth repeating because we benefit the most by putting them to work immediately!
1) Fill up on more fruit and vegetables

If you’ve got a bad habit of filling up on unhealthy snacks and convenience foods, now’s the time to make a change. On most days, you should be aiming to swallow at least five portions of fruit and veg.
To help with this, try switching your morning coffee in favour of a fruit-filled smoothie, or swapping your mid-morning biscuit for an apple or tangerine.
2) Get moving

Did you know that as well as lowering your risk of major illnesses like stroke, diabetes and heart disease by up to 50%, getting enough exercise can help to boost your self-esteem and mood, and it can also lower your risk of stress and depression?
Getting out of the house, going for a walk in the park (while respecting social distancing and wearing a face mask of course) for a few minutes and enjoy the outdoors can help you to burn more calories, strengthen your immune system and give you a boost of energy which will improve your mood!
3) Stop smoking

If you smoke, now’s the time to stop. As well the major health benefits that we all know about, quitting the habit could improve your skin and delay the appearance of wrinkles. It could also mean whiter teeth and it might even boost your fertility. One option is to make the switch from traditional cigarettes to e-cigs.
4) Catch up on sleep

Many of us struggle to get a good night’s sleep from time to time, but regular sleeplessness could be putting you at an increased risk of obesity, heart problems, diabetes and depression.
It may also be taking its toll on your immune system. To up your levels of shuteye, make sure you have a comfy bed and a relaxing night-time routine.
You might also benefit from cutting your levels of caffeine, and make sure you steer clear of big meals before you lay down your head on the pillow.
5) Have a style makeover
Last but not least, if you’re tired of how you look, arrange a style makeover. Perhaps a new hair cut would make a welcome change, and maybe your wardrobe could do with a revamp.
What about some new makeup like the Becca ultimate coverage complexion makeup? Don’t shy away from trying new looks!
BONUS
One of my favorite ways of starting the day is to wake up early, to watch the sunrise with a cup of tea then proceeding to balancing the chakras which is an energy boost.
Here’s what I listen to while resting
Moreover, I do a yoga session that helps me stretch and truly focus!
So there you have 5 steps to a happier and healthier new you.
Now I’m turning it over to you.
Tell us…
What changes have you made to your life recently?
What are you doing differently than in the past?

Great tips!!! But it’s Number 1 that I need to work on. I still prepare meat almost every night for supper, and my husband and I could definitely do without the meat. Thanks for the reminders. Now, to do the real work!
Sorry for the delay.
Thank you, glad you found them useful!
Ever heard of Meat Free Monday? It’s a day where you don’t consume any animal meat and replace it with healthy, vegetarian or vegan options.
I’ve been a vegetarian for over 5 years now and even gone vegan for 10 days which made me feel and see the difference!
We’re work in progress 🙂
Thank you for stopping by!
Meat Free Monday sounds doable for anyone. And it would be a start at educating people. Thx for the suggestion. And the comments!
