Last year I had the pleasure of participating in Travel Supermarket’s awesome photo competition Capture The Colour.
I submitted 5 images from my travels around the world along with a short description of each one of those great places.
It was a huge success, therefore the organizers decided to bring it back! The 2013 edition is now underway, so I thought why not give it a try again? 😉
Let me share with you my selections based on 5 colors: yellow, red, green, white and blue. Let’s have a look!
Yellow
Arco Santa Catarina in Antigua Guatemala is one of the oldest and most recognized landmarks in this charming colonial city.
Built in the 17th century, the arch still stands strong until this day. Now it may look like it needs a fresh coat of paint but that’s what gives its character.
Walking on cobble stone streets is just amazing. You truly go back in time!
Red
TBEX, the largest travel blogger conference, was held for the first time in Toronto last June. On the 2nd evening we were all invited to the Expedia night of the stars viewing party on Centre Island.
Some bloggers came prepared and dressed for the occasion. The fabulous Veronica James a.k.a @gypsynester wore a gorgeous red lace dress and accessories to match.
Once I saw her & the city skyline in the background, I thought it was magical…I HAD to capture it! Now I know what it means to be at the right place at the right time! It was a priceless and unforgettable moment.
Green
Nestled at the foot of a mountain and facing a lake, Balnéa Spa is located about an hour away south of Montreal, in a city called Bromont.
I was heading down to Lac Gale when I suddenly turned around and saw this magnificent view, one that will always be remembered.
All the shades of green were a real feast for the eyes! Any doctor would gladly prescribe it 😉
White
If I had to describe Helsinki Cathedral in 1 word it would be stunning!
The cathedral is so rich in history and has gone through many transformations since its completion in 1852.
It is definitely is a symbol of great achievement. This landmark is on a strategic location with commanding views of the city.
Architecture lovers, photographers, tourists and strong believers can all agree that this is an exceptional site to go to 🙂
Blue
Flying over Greenland was one of the most exhilarating experiences so far this year.
I should have been asleep on the trip back home from Helsinki to New York but for some reason I stayed awake and I’m very glad I did!
I was following the route on-screen and it said that we were over the East Coast of the world’s largest island.
How could I miss such a spectacular show? I’m proud of this capture; it was spontaneous and taken with my Smartphone. It sure was well worth it right?
So there you have my interpretations! I hope you enjoyed this tour around the world. Let me know which one (s) you liked 😉
It’s time to invite some of my favorite & fabulous bloggers to do the same!
