Well, there is a specific place where you can get a healthy dose of those vitamins and it is in one of Portugal’s most famous and beloved year round vacation destination, The Algarve.

Located in the southern tip of the country, this popular coastal region draws millions of visitors, both local and international for many good reasons.

But what exactly does it have to offer that it is so alluring and draws people like magnets. Some even buy property or rent villas during their stay on site such as Villa Plus  in order to relax.

What strikes the most is the soft, golden sand, turquoise and inviting waters and cliffs that protect the shoreline. It is something like the postcard perfect location which is a must in any itinerary.

Ria Formosa near Faro

This lagoon and natural park is composed of six inlets and one communicates to the Port of Faro.

There are several small towns and villages in the surrounding areas, namely Cabana de Tavira as well as famed Tavira Island.

 International Sand Sculpture Festival in Pêra

Among the most important and largest sand sculpture festivals in the world, it is a spectacular showcase of figures, shapes using one of the area’s most abundant and natural resources.

It is amazing to see the originality and creativity of artists who create larger than life sculptures that are a delight for the eyes and deserve to be captured.

Rock Beach is in another stunning location in the municipality and city bearing the same name, Portimão.

Besides the idyllic beaches, that welcome the beach football championship, there is Forte Santa Catarina Fortress that towers over the city and is worth a visit for a dose of history and culture.

Vale Do Lobo

Originally built as one of the first tourist resorts in the country, Vale Do Lobo is ideal for Golf lovers with its courses facing the ocean.
