My 7 Super Shots

Thank you so much to Aaron of elatlboy for tagging me and for letting me take part in HostelBookers 7 Super Shots.

I take so many pictures when I travel and they are my most cherished souvenirs! I really loved going through my photos for this fun exercise! It brings back memories and incredible feelings.

Let me show you a photo that:

1. Takes my breath away.

Jungfraujoch, Switzerland

I was very fortunate to go to the top of Europe during my 2nd visit to Switzerland. The train ride from Interlaken all the way to the top of Jungfrau is quite an adventure. We were rewarded with this impressive sight. Words are not enough to describe it. I literally stopped breathing for a few seconds! It is simply phenomenal.

2. Makes me laugh or smile.

Man dressed in pink. Only in NYC.

This picture has got to be one of the funniest I’ve ever taken and best of all, it was just spontaneous. I was walking on 5th Avenue & Park Avenue South, in New York city a few days ago and suddenly this man appeared to my left. Since I am a photographer, I am always ready to press on the shutter! The light was red, so I had time to take it. Everyone around was laughing so hard, even shed some tears as it was hilarious. Wow, what courage does this person have & who cares what people think! I love the details, the statue of liberty crown over his winter hat. This is a priceless image 😉

3. Makes me dream.

Stunning Whitehaven Beach in Whitsunday Islands, Australia

Whitehaven Beach is definitely my favorite beach on earth. I have never seen so much beauty in one single place. Everything is just perfect, pristine white silica sand and turquoise water…need I say more? I dream of the day I go back there!

4. Makes me think.

An elderly Korean man in Seoul, South Korea

I wonder what this man is thinking. Is he looking back at his life? At all he went through or accomplished? Were there things he regrets or wishes he had done? Who knows. He was sitting right outside a coffee shop near a mountain (Mt Ingwansan which I hiked) in Seoul and it was the perfect setting. As I previously mentioned, I have an eye for details but this one is really special as it was begging to be captured.

I love the quote in the window display, life is just a cup of coffee. Enjoy it one day at a time and then let go.  Time is too precious and doesn’t come back.

I can’t help feeling emotional when I look at this picture. I hope to be old one day & just laugh and cry at all the amazing experiences and adventures I am living NOW. I feel the fear and do it anyway. I take risks and they do pay off 😉

5. Makes my mouth water.

Pizza Margherita

It is no secret that I love food and especially Italian. I have a big thing for Pizza Margherita. I will admit that I have had the best in Napoli but this one that you see here really comes close to the real thing. It was finger licking delicious!  Just looking at it makes me hungry!  It is even better if it is accompanied by vino rosso (preferably Chianti).

6. Tells a story.

Panchimalco, El Salvador

Iglesia de Panchimalco, is an architectural gem as you can appreciate from this picture. I took this pic when I visited the city a few years ago and was just stunned of its beauty and gorgeous backdrop. I was told it is the oldest church in El Salvador. It has withstood earthquakes, invasions, war and still stands tall today. What an amazing feat don’t you think?

7. I am most proud of (aka my worthy of National Geographic shot).

Lake Monroe, The Laurentians, Quebec, Canada

When I want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, I head to my favorite place up north: the Laurentians. It is located about 1 1/2 hour from Montreal and is so beautiful all-year round. This particular lake is just impressive. I have been going there since childhood so it has a special meaning. I took this picture on a beautiful summer day and spent the entire day there. I would love waking up every morning to this view 🙂

I hope you enjoyed as much as I did taking them.

I really look forward to seeing your 7 Super Shots.

Til next time!

Lots of l♥ve,

Kay 🙂
