“I like good food”
– Anthony Bourdain
I certainly agree with the amazing world traveler and extraordinary food connoisseur, the one and only, Anthony Bourdain.
The best way to get to know the culture of any country is through its food. It is an unforgettable experience for all your senses.
Now as you know very well, I have a good and hearty appetite, a “buen diente” as we say in Spanish 🙂 I simply love typical dishes and soul food from many countries around the world. From bibimbap, to souvlaki to pupusas and tacos to pizza margherita and everything in between!
A little while ago I traveled to one of my absolute favorite countries on earth (which has been also included among the happiest and friendliest) Costa Rica.
Little did I know that it was going to be an educating, entertaining and life-changing trip!
I’ve already shared with you some of my adventures but did you know that there was also a special one taking place every single day at La Galería Restaurant at the stunning Parador Resort & Spa? It was an adventure for my palate and taste buds:)
I sure needed the necessary fuel to go visit a school, hike down to the beach, zip lining, tour a National Park and recharge batteries before coming back home 🙂
It was a surprise after another which I loved. Every single time I ordered, I was waiting with excitement to see how it was going to be presented and how delicious it would be knowing that they use only the freshest and local ingredients.
As you know, I am a certified foodie and obsessed food photographer. I certainly did not miss an opportunity to capture the culinary delights of Chef Alejandro Torres and his cooking team as well as the fantastic service from Team Parador Staff: Marlen, Eric, Nereida, Jason, Fabian, Warren, Dianny and Dalberto among others.
Let me share with you some of the most delicious meals, #ParadorPuraVida style of course. By the way, they are totally Pinterest and Instagram worthy, so feel free to share!
Dear food lovers, again I offer you my sincere apologies if it makes you drool or hungry or thirsty.

There is something I need to mention which is truly important and it really amazed me. Before traveling to the hotel, I let them know about my food allergies. Believe it or not, the staff knew it and made sure it was all taken care of. How incredibly kind, thoughtful and incredible of them to do so. That is certainly not a service or attention that other 5 star hotels have offered me in the past!
They also cater to special needs and if you want vegetarian or gluten free food, they will gladly prepare it just the way you like it. Actually you will be stunned as I was 🙂
I sure loved every minute I spent in Costa Rica which turned out to be one of the most unforgettable trips I’ve ever taken.
I would like to thank everyone at Parador Resort & Spa for welcoming me and treating me as a family member. I can’t wait to go back in the near future!
Now over to you.
Tell me something,
When was last time you were amazed by the cuisine offered at a hotel or restaurant.
Where was it?
I want to read all about it, better yet SHOW us pics to drool for!
Until next time.
Many happy travels and PURA VIDA 🙂
All the best always,
K
