As you know very well by now, travel is one of my greatest passions in life. It has shaped and defined my life right up until this very day.
Not only am I extremely grateful, for all the lessons learned and experience acquired along the day, I am quite enthusiastic about learning more about it.
Hence that is why I am always looking for ways of increasing my knowledge and gain a different perspective about how everything in the travel industry works.
Fortunately, during the past 5 years that I’ve been blogging (I still can’t believe I made it this far and have you to thank for the inspiration and for being the reason I do what I do). I have found some incredible resources online that help me reach those goals.
There is a site that I discovered that it is worth gold. Oh did I even mention that I absolutely LOVE collecting diplomas or certificates? Well this one allows me to do just that and it is with great pleasure that I introduce it to you today.
OTT is the leading free online training as well as marketing platform
which offers you the possibility of acquiring knowledge about many aspects in the travel and tourism industry such as:
Aviation
Destination
Tour operators
Cruise and ferry
Car hire
Accommodation
Rail
among others.
You will learn a great deal thanks to the numerous Free Online Travel Training Courses
offered by the leading travel companies in the world as well as tourism offices.
If you desire more specialized GDS (Global Distribution) courses which include booking systems such as: Sabre, Apollo, Galileo or IATA, Customer Service or Digital Marketing, they are available for a fee.
The first thing you need is to sign up of course.
After you complete your profile, you can go to product training menu where you can start learning right away by selecting one of the classes in any category as mentioned above.
I’ve been particularly studying aviation
and destination modules
as they are the ones I am most interested in.
As you can see below in my achievements page, there is the list of all the courses I have taken and succeeded.
You can also pause or come back to the course you are taking by continuing it at a later time. See which ones need to be completed (such as the national carrier of my country 😉
Let’s just say that I have kept myself pretty busy in the past year and have studied quite a few companies and destinations.
I am an enthusiastic learner, thus the more, the better!
I am happy to have completed the most recent module offered by Discover Turkey which was so much fun! I’m already planning a future visit to a country that has so many stunning places and ah all that food and coffee/tea 🙂
There are also a few islands in the Caribbean that are calling my name and drawing me in like a magnet. Only time will tell if I make it.
