“Travel is the only thing that makes you richer”

Do you agree with the above? I sure do because it is absolutely true and clearly describes what travel brings to your life and how it makes you feel.

Throughout the years I have been able to work hard, save and be disciplined and make my very own dreams come true. Now it may not have been an easy road but all those sacrifices were well worth it once arriving at the final destination. The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step right?

Now as a photographer, I take tons of photos which are my most precious souvenirs but the memories created and moments lived are just priceless!

I don’t know about you, but right after returning from abroad, I immediately start to mentally plan my next trip and it’s due to that buzz you feel, that energy that is contained in your body and mind that makes you plan your next adventure 🙂

These days it is very easy to research, read and learn so much about the world which is available at your fingertips and resources on the internet but I am old school and I still like to go to the bookstore and actually grab a real travel guide. There is something about touching and smelling the pages that makes me happy!

Another way of deciding where to head next is to look at maps, REAL maps (btw, I do keep them after coming back. Yes I’m a map hoarder haha 🙂

I also like to have a map on my wall so that I daydream about distant and exotic destinations that are on my always growing Bucket List.

Recently, I decided to do a little research and found Wallpapered.com.

Wallpapered.com, homepage

As the name of company (based in London, UK) states, they offers wallpapers, printed canvas (art or world maps) or you can upload your very own to the site to order.

Next, I headed to the Canvas section.

I scrolled down to the world maps and found one that I liked.

This is the Standard Relief World Map with Antarctica Canvas.

There were two sizes and I chose the small one (40” X30”). Simple and colorful 🙂

Next, I proceeded to the check out and entered the necessary info and the only thing to do was to wait.

The company uses UPS for worldwide deliveries, thus you are guaranteed it will get to you, wherever you may be.

I placed the order on a Thursday and received it on a Monday! See even products travel from one corner of the planet to another.

I was quite anxious to open the package, and this was inside:

I immediately loved the high quality and the relief of the canvas. It comes with the necessary parts so that you can hang it wherever you like!

Now I have what was missing in my living room next to kid friendly decor 🙂

Next time I will print one of my favorite photos from my adventures around the world!

  1. I am a fellow map hoarder. I decided that my hoarding was getting out of control, so I grabbed several maps and cut them out in various shapes and will use them as wallpaper in my office. They are all from places that I have visited, so I will have a constant reminder of my travels while working. I will also have a constant desire to return to some of these places. I can’t wait to see the results.

    • Oh you made your own collage and used it as wallpaper? How awesome is that! Great idea 🙂

I have a little plastic box where I keep all my paper maps and every now and then I love to just open them up and remember where I went and what I saw. It’s like instant travelling 🙂

Yes, it may be old school but I even buy and save postcards too and hope maps won’t disappear anytime soon!

      Thanks for stopping by!

      Karla 🙂
