Architecture should speak of its time and place, but yearn for timelessness.

Helsinki is a vibrant, dynamic city so rich in history and clearly one of the world’s best design centers for many good reasons. It has so much to offer!
I had the wonderful opportunity of visiting the Finnish capital for a special project with an airline and just fell under its charm right from the moment I set foot.
What impressed me the most is that it is architecturally beautiful! Everywhere I looked I was amazed at the buildings, colors and styles. I just could not stop taking pictures of everything in sight!
Instead of telling you all about it, I invite you to go on an Architectural walking tour of Helsinki, Finland
Even coffee shops are stylish that I couldn’t help but capture a few of them. They are so inviting that it makes you want to go inside and get drink on the spot 😉
Can you believe this picture was taken after 10 p.m?
I was in the land of the midnight sun! It is quite an amazing experience let me tell you. What better way to end my day 😉
Hope you enjoyed going on an Architectural walking tour of Helsinki, Finland
Have you traveled to a city just for its architecture?
Where was it?
Or where would you like to go?
We are curious and would like to know, so please share it with us in the comments below 🙂
Until next time, hasta luego!
All the best,
K.
I really need to visit Finland some day soon!!! Your photos are nothing short of exquisite!! And yes, I did enjoy the tour as much as you did too!
Ah my friend, you just HAVE to go!
What a fab city it is 😉 Wish I had stayed longer but sure enjoyed every minute. Can’t wait to go back
Thank you for the compliment about my photos. Happy you liked them. More to come 😉
What is that Kamppi Chapel of Silence? The design is incredible and the wooden facade is beautiful! Did you go inside?
Hi Christina!
Well as the name states it is a very quiet place where you can go gather your thoughts & recharge energies in the middle of a busy area!
Isn’t the shape just stunning? I was in awe when i saw it! Captured it & touched it of course.
Sadly it was closed when i got there but it must be nice inside! Next time maybe 😉
What an interesting idea! I guess I assumed it was a church. This also means you have to go back so that you can see the inside and try it out so as to recharge your travel batteries! 🙂
It is a church dear! I was there after it closed so didn’t get to see the interior.
I was beating jet lag by walking all over the city 😉
I’m totally going back and another thing I must try is going to a real Finnish sauna 😉
I love architecture everywhere I go: bulidings, streets, castles, churches… I also take million photographs of everything I see. Love the photos and the one after 10 pm is amazing, I also experienced the midnight sun in Norway, it’s amazing.
That’s so great to hear Ana!
I love seeing a new city and look in many directions!
Helsinki is just so photogenic that you take pics to you ♥ content!
Even if i was jetlagged i was determined to see as much as possible and that midnight sun was a spectacular experience!
I’m happy you lived in Norway. Must go there someday too.
Thank you for stopping by 😉

Your photos are beautiful! I especially liked the one of the bicycle in front of the cafe since every great trip includes a visit to a unique cafe 🙂
Thank you! Glad you liked them. Yes, that photo of the bike facing the coffee shop was quite unique and spontaneous, i don’t know why I stopped but so glad I did 🙂
