What’s on my travel bucketlist?

Have you seen the movie The Bucketlist with Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman?

If you haven’t, I highly recommend you do! It is one of my all-time favorite travel movies! I sure hope it will motivate you to go out into the world, explore and discover.

I have always made a habit of writing down exactly where I wanted to travel. I believe this formula has been quite successful since I have been very fortunate.

Life has been incredibly good to me. In the past decade, I have visited 30 countries in 4 continents and there’s many more to come!

Its pretty much the law of attraction but written down on paper or stored electronically in this case.

I have even created a wallpaper to constantly remind me about it and of course daydream (it doesn’t hurt one bit, right?)

travel, 7 wonders, seven wonders of the world, around the world, dreams, bucket list

Travel is really necessary. Not only then will you be able to get to know more about yourself and others but you will truly appreciate who & what you have in your life.

It takes time, planning, dedication and some discipline. Like any other goal in life, the more you focus on it the faster you will reach it. Don’t you think?

Leaving your comfort zone might be scary but try it! Getting to know other people and cultures is totally rewarding and life-changing! Not to mention the incredible memories you take back with you!

I invite you to take a look at my Buckelist. Why not create your own? Give it a go!

I look forward to read your lists!

Til next time.

L♥ve always,

Kay 🙂

  1. I actually haven’t seen that movie, better getting going on that. 🙂 Great bucket list! I learned about belly dancing the hard way (at a company holiday party a while back haha). Hoping to do #43 this year, ideally over San Francisco and Napa Valley.

    • Thank you Aaron! Oh you REALLY have to see the movie! It’s very nice & the locations are just impressive!

I am still lol about your belly dancing story! Well we learn new things when we least expect it 😉

A hot-air balloon ride must be incredible and the view? Out of this world.

Lucky you, hope you have a blast!

      Cheers,

      K 🙂

  2. Nice bucket list. I REALLY like #4, and #s 12, 16, 31, 32, 39, and 41 are also great ideas, stuff that I have never even though of.. Good thinking Kay! I’m curious though, is this your bucket list, or have you had to adjust your list b/c of things already accomplished? I kept checking things off my original bucket list so for 2012 I came up with a new 366 item super intense for-travel-blogger’s-only bucket list… now even if I spend the rest of my life traveling, I will never accomplish them all LOL. Anyway, I enjoyed reading, so keep writing and keep traveling!

    • Thank you Derek, I am happy to know that you liked my list!

Actually I keep adding things to this list. I have a separate list of things accomplished! You can check it here:

I check them off once they have been realized or completed. It helps me stay focused and motivated!

Your super intense list may be long but you have the rest of your life! 🙂

Keep dreaming, traveling, exploring & smiling!

      All the best,

      Kay 🙂

  3. Pingback: Travel bucket list compilation: It's #TravelBL Wednesday!

  4. That’s a great list – I love how different all your goals are! I agree with you on many of them. I got to do #11 (Bora Bora) this summer and I have to say that it’s worth it! And, travel to other places in French Polynesia if you get the chance….the crystal blue waters, sunny skies, not to mention world class diving in Rangiroa where we got to do another of your goals – swim with dolphins! 🙂

    • Thank you for your comment Charu sweetie. Well it’s a way of reminding myself what I truly want to accomplish in this lifetime. They are attainable goals! All in it’s due time right? So far I can say that life has been incredibly good to me. I bow in gratitude 🙂

    • Kiitos paljon for your comment!

Well I have never been to Egypt and there are many other things to see and places to visit besides the pyramids. I think I did write on my Bucketlist a cruise on the Nile. I would love to stare in wonder at Abu Simbel & make it to Mount Sinai perhaps?;)

The Nordic countries I want to visit are all of them ha ha you are right, I should add them!

I looked at your blog & love the pics!

      Thanks for stopping by 😉

      K.

    • Thank you so much my beautiful friend.

Nothing excites me more & makes me truly happy than adding dreams and goals to the list.

Checking them off is an amazing feeling of accomplishment and makes me proud of how far I’ve gone!

We’ve so much left to see and do, it just keeps getting better!

Life’s so good and for that, I bow in gratitude. 🙂

Thank you for stopping by, for your support & for your understanding.

      Many blessings amiga.

      *Besos y abrazos*

      L♥ve always,

      Kay xo

    • Thank you! Im glad you like it. What did you cross out already? Put your link here so that we can all see.

The number does not matter, what’s really important is that you do it for yourself even if it’s little by little.

The feeling of accomplishment or achievement is incredible right? 🙂

      • Of course – the feeling of accomplishment is one of the best feelings in the world. Well these are the things I’ve done.
See a lunar rainbow over Victoria Falls (Sort of – I saw a rainbow there, not a lunar one though)
        Visit Thailand (Yes!)
See the Taj Mahal (Way back though)
Climb a light house (I did this a few years ago)
Stand on The Equator (If travelling around in Kenya, which has the equator going right across it, counts)
Graduate with my Master’s Degree (2 years ago)
Go on an African Safari (yeah, but long back as well)

  5. Those are MAJOR accomplishments dear!

I don’t consider them a small number but an pretty impressive list.

It’s not just how lengthy the Bucketlist is, most importantly is the value that it brings to your life and perhaps those around you!

I can only say one thing: WOW.

Keep it up and yes create a list so that you are constantly reminded of how far you’ve come, how fortunate you are and there so much more waiting for you.

    Very well done 😉

  6. What a great list – my son did the TESOL thing way back (15 years ago?) and enabled me to think if he can… so can I… Thanks for the like on my post, but more, thanks for the thoughts you express – you do not know where you will go or be and maybe the list will never finish, but I hope to hear more about it

    • Thank you so much! That is such a great story. Thank you for sharing it.

Well, we are the only one who can set the limits but you know that life is way too short not to be lived to the max.

If we have dreams we must go after them til they become a reality!

      I appreciate you stopping by

      Kay 🙂

  7. I’d also like to try 4, 6, 11 & 51. I’d strongly recommend 8, 9, 10, 14, 15, 18 & my favourite 54! (Llife has been kind enough to take me there recently). Best of luck with the list!

    • Great to read that AniShah!

I’m trying #6 but it’s kind of hard. I’m practicing lots for #4 and I’ve friends in the Nordic Countries. Must be gorgeous!

As for the other destinations, they are on the radar, have to be patient, work and it will all happen in its due time 😉

Would love to hear about your experiences. Why don’t you write your own bucketlist and share with us? 😉

I appreciate the time you took in visiting my site.

      Talk with you soon

      *Hug*

      Meee 😉

  8. Hello there! Do you know if they make any plugins to help
with SEO? I’m trying to get my blog to rank for some targeted keywords but I’m not seeing very good success.
If you know of any please share. Kudos!

  9. I totally agree about the marvelous power of travel. Traveling the world is my dream and as soon as I am out of school I’d love to pursue it. I love your bucket list. And as an Austin local its a great city 🙂

    • Thank you so much!

I’m happy to read that you like my list & I invite you to create your own!

Going out and explore the world is one of the best things in life. Yes it is quite an investment but it’ll enrich your life!

I’ve never been to Austin but I hope to visit soon!

      All the best 😉

  10. I agree with you about travelling – it’s such a broadening experience for the heart, mind and the spirit. My bucket list of countries is ever widening as I meet people whose excitement is contagious or watch a documentary or other. I made it to New Zealand – my all-time destination and am still overwhelmed by what a wonder-filled place it is.

    • Wow!

That is awesome to read. I am sure you will be greatly surprised by all the beauty and majesty.

I can’t wait to read about your adventures and daydream while looking at your photos.

Thank you for visiting & happy travels 😉

  11. I’ve never really been much for bucket lists, but you’ve given me inspiration and an idea! It never occurred to me to put mundane things (like knitting better) on the list, but those are every bit as important as big stuff like seeing the Grand Canyon. (Don’t just see it – hike down into it – absolutely beaufiful!) So I’ve decided to get myself a little notebook and start writing down (and crossing off!) all those big & little things I’ve always wanted to do – like try Limoncello!

By the way – if you do get ’round to #45 & #71, let me know. I grew up in Arizona and can offer a few more cool things to see. Also, you should add Carlsbad Caverns to #68 and, if you go during the International Balloon Festival, you can cross off #43 too! Plus, the sunrise mass ascension is Capital-A-mazing!

    • That is great to hear!

Anything that makes your heart skip a beat, big or small, is well worth documenting!

Sounds like you already have lots to do and it will be done right? 😉

I sure need to go to Sedona (#41) as it is a very spiritual place that I have been dreaming about for years.

The Grand Canyon #71 must be absolutely spectacular from what I have seen and heard from a few friends have come back mesmerized!

Awesome suggestions for New Mexico, thank you so much.

      We’ll see with time!

I appreciate you taking the time to visit and for your recommendations.

      Happy & safe travels

      Kay 🙂

    • What a sensational list of things to do Evelyn! Very inspiring actually 😉

You live life with such passion and enthusiasm!

I am certain you will accomplish them in due time!

Thank you so much for sharing 😉

      Love, K 😉

  12. wow, that all sounds amazing and FUN! i swam with dolphins off Zanzibar which was so amazing. there were probably about 30 or so of them. i cant say enough about bali as it was my favorite place until i visited morocco! when you make it to LA or Vegas i know tons of things to do if you need any recommendations 🙂

    • Swimming with dolphins in Zanzibar? Oh my! Sounds fabulous! I’d ♥ to do that.

Bali is a place i must go as I know it will transform me.

Yes, Vegas is a must! If i go i will ask you for recs 😉

      Thanks for stopping by!

  14. That’s a wicked list, girl! I’m glad to say that I’ve done most of these things such as visiting Tibet or snuggle in a hammock. I must say that your travel plans are so ambitious and I hope you can make all of these dreams come true. My bucket list is way too long! I wish I could get married on a beach and go bungee jumping somewhere in South America :).

    • Oh thank you so much!

Glad you like my dream list 😉

How fortunate you are to already have checked off many items 😉

Btw your plans sound fab as well. Definitely kick it 😉

      Thank you for stopping by!

  15. You still haven’t cut off sugar for a month (unless you just added it to your bucket list)? It’s not that hard. The only sugar I have used in the last 3 years are the natural sugar found in vegetables. I actually started by eliminating soda from my habits then slowly coffee without cream and sugar, after that, I found it was easier than ever to not eat sugary food. You can do it!

    Nice bucket list.

    • Well Mark easier said than done!

Old habits die hard and you know that right? Good for you! 3 years without sugar? Ooh you’ve got very strong will power 😉

It is great that you have kept it up for so long!

Sometimes I go a few days without it (detox) but then again I don’t want to deprive myself of things I love.

      We all lead different lives.

Nevertheless I appreciate the time you took in writing and sharing your opinion.

      All the best

      Kay 🙂

    • Thank you Helen!

Yes I know it’s huge but you know they say dream big, well that’s just what I did 😉

Your Bucketlist is pretty awesome, totally doable. I see some that I also want to see & do especially No 1, 2, 8 & 20.

In response to your question, my heart & soul definitely call for Italy. I just felt right at home in Rome & also Le Marche where I lived for over a month.

If I could live, work (write and teach and be a photographer) it would be fab!

Thank you for stopping by 🙂
