Location
The Island House Inn at Boca Grande Resort is located on the northern tip of Gasparilla Island between the Gulf of Mexico and Gasparilla Sound in Southwest Florida.
It is recommended to rent a car from Fort Myers or Sarasota/Bradenton Airports since there is no public transportation and taxis or private vehicles can cost quite a bit.
Let me walk you through the property 🙂
This quaint, peaceful and lovely small boutique hotel has 16 individually decorated rooms and 2 suites for larger families.
My Room
My room, No 203, has 2 plush queen beds. I simply can’t remember last time I slept like a baby. The mattress is really heavenly!
Apparently they are the same that of a 5 star hotel (that we won’t name). The linen was crisp and smelled great.
There is a TV with cable (Direct TV is the provider), WiFi is Free throughout the property and no password is required.
The suite
The spacious suites come equipped with a King size bed, 2 bathrooms, a connecting room with two twin beds (for children) and a sofa.
The bathroom
Standard bathrooms are stocked with fresh, soft and fluffy towels. Toiletries are citrus scented and replaced daily. Moreover a hair dryer, coffee machine and an ice bucket is provided.
Tiki Bar and Grill
The Restaurant
The swimming pool
Other services
My observations:
Pros
Friendly management
Spacious, well-lit and nicely equipped rooms
Truly comfortable beds (too bad I did not spend more time sleeping)
Fresh towels everyday
Daily cleaning
There is a marina behind the resort, watch the sunrise from the pier
Cons
Intermittent WiFi
Cleaning staff left my door open or did not lock it properly one day. Luckily nothing happened to my belongings.
If room key is lost, there is a $25 replacement fee
The alarm clock did not work, so I used the alarm on my smart phone
My suggestions
Improve WiFi reception
Change alarm clocks
Make sure cleaning staff closes door properly after leaving the room
Include a mini-fridge instead of having to go down to the ice machine (on the 1st floor) in the middle of the night.
Overall rate
The Boca Grande Resort offers great value and it is very pleasant. I really can’t stress enough on how comfy the beds are. It truly beats the hard mattresses of a 5 star hotel I stayed at in the past.
It is very quiet at night and you get a good night’s sleep!

Many thanks to the Charlotte Harbor Visitor and Convention Bureau for coordinating our trip and The Boca Grande Resort for providing accommodations.
The honest opinions I shared are strictly my own and always will be.
Kinda “colonial” atmosphere….
Well it’s cozy & island style 😉
Looks lovely….and a comfy bed is a must in my world (I’m a light sleeper!) I usually don’t get my room cleaned while I am travelling unless I am there for an extended period of time. Not sure how to deal with the door not being closed properly…I would be devastated if my camera went missing or my laptop…while the hardware could easily be replaced…the loss of photos and my work would be tough to deal with! Always a good reminder to use the safe in the room!
It is lovely & yes the bed is soooo comfortable. Trust me I could have spent a few hours just doing nothing he he.
Well I did see the cleaning lady on the other side of the floor and she saw me. But I did not like the fact that she did not lock the door properly. It did smell great, freshly cleaned room.
It is a safe area and all but still, that is a small detail that does matter!
I too would be very sad if something would happen to my camera or laptop cause they are our work tools!
Great suggestion, I will add that too!
Thank you for stopping by! Merci 😉
Lovely tour:) I know where I’m adding to my travel bucket list…
That’s great news.
You will love it i am certain!
Let me know if you go 😉
