I have a confession to make.
I’m obsessed with street art…I’ve become an art junkie!
I can’t exactly recall when it started but I’ve seen amazing creations during my travels.
Since the beginning of the year, I have ventured out in my own backyard and discovered some true gems.
This form of urban art not only adds beauty to public spaces but brings back life to the areas where they are found!
What I love about it is the fact that it’s open for interpretation, therefore making the viewer or art lover, an active participant.
It has become such an important part of the culture that even a Mural Festival was held back in June and drew artists from all over the world. It is definitely here to stay 😉
Let me show you the colorful and spectacular Street Art in Montreal.
I hope you liked this collection! Believe it or not they were taken with my smart phone and enhanced them a bit thanks to www.picmonkey.com
Which one did you like best?
Now it’s your turn! Tell me, are you an art lover?
Is there a mural where you live that is incredible?
Share your link in the comment section 🙂
Until next time!
Love,
Kay
I am truly amazed – what a beauty!
Thank you!
I was greatly surprised to find such incredible creations 😉
I’m happy you liked them too!
Very cool! Love the Back to the Future one. 🙂
Isn’t it something?
I was driving and heading East when I suddenly saw it on a wall next to a convenience store.
I had to stop and capture it and i’m glad I did 😉
Street art is always surprising, Karla…I too am obsessed with them. I LOVE the colors!
Great to hear that Charu!
I’ve been noticing more and more of them which is just fab.
Yeah colors are vibrant & a feast for the eyes.
Thank you for visiting 😉
Back to the Future and Rubik’s Cube! I’m an eighties girl after all 🙂 thanks for sharing!
Thank you!
Yeah Back to the future was a great find and pleasant surprise 😉 It’s one of my fav movie trilogy.
Ah how to forget Rubik’s cube ha ha we all had one right?
Thanks for stopping by 😉
Wish I could take great shots with my iPhone. It seems like there is more street art in Canadian cities. Maybe I’m wrong, but it just seems like the case.
Well i’ve heard and seen great photos taken with the iphone. Have you played around with it?
I also use this great photo app called Camera 360, the results are amazing, as you saw in this post!
It’s true that there may be more here but pay attention where you live 😉
Let me know if you find any!
Thank you for visiting 😉

Amazing collection! Kharkiv (Ukraine) has also some traditions of street art, that especially developed greatly this year. Many central building walls now painted with some symbols and portraits of prominent ukrainians https://fbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/q71/1016983_525022320885425_1814964235_n.jpg
Thank you!
Wow, those creations are awesome too.
Thank you so much for sharing 😉
I walked Montreal all summer to get pictures of as many murals as possible. I came across those you posted. I wonder if we ever crossed paths looking for THE mural that nobody would know of 😉 ! Great work and Thanks for sharing.
That’s great to know that you’re also a fan of street art.
Honestly i came across some of them by pure coincidence, for instance Back to the Future. I was driving to Marche Maisonneuve & when i saw it i had to stop!
The latest I found, Our lady of Grace & boy with toys were amazing finds (both are in NDG).
As for those on the main well they are well known.
I’m always on the lookout when I’m out walking or driving!
If you found some i’ve not seen let me know.
Merci de visiter 😉
I’m sure you have more than those you posted… right ?
If not, trust me, there are so many more all over the city and I’m not talking about the ones on the Main. How about “Les Filles du Roy” inaugurated on September 23rd, (600, rue Dublin/Wellington) ? You need to see those at Les Habitations Jeanne-Mance (6 of them) on Maisonneuve just east on St-Laurent. Have fun !
P.S. I go by bus, I get off when I see one and get on the next bus … I’m addicted lol 😉 !
Of course I’ve more pics of murals on my phone.
I recently saw one near Jean-Talon Station (Italian Center) & there is one downtown done by a South African artist. Must go back to capture them!
Thank you for letting me know about Les Filles du Roy & Jeanne-Mance!
Happy street art hunting 😉
Some of these are really great. I love ‘Reach for the Moon’- the artist must have been really talented.
Yes, that is pure talent!
I actually saw it by pure coincidence. So happy to have captured it!
Great art work.
Thank you!
There are amazing creations throughout Montreal 😉
Can’t wait to find more!
I reblogged your post. One of the blogs I follow is also interested in street art.
Thank you!
